On July 8th, the following stages were completed.

It was felt that the tone of the panel had to be darker. This was accomplished by laying glazes over the previous surface and blotting with various materials. The painting is shown on my easel. Since I work with the painting hanging from a clamp on a rope (so I can raise and lower the painting), there is a "stabilizer" at the bottom. This is a spring clamp with a felt pad that holds the work against the easel. The drawing is still visible to me.

Now, a clay-red panel has been added and textured. The thought is to suggest granite. This panel will become the base upon which sits the apples.
